Often times we meditate on past hurts, pains, failures and losses that have impacted they way we live and think. Not realizing that all of those things only came to develop us into the individuals that we have become today.
We get so caught up in the comfort of always having someone or something there, that we miss the real purpose of why that thing is apart of our lives in the first place. It has always been told, that people or things are in your life for a reason, season or a lifetime. I know some will read this and say, not another cliche blog.. but this real talk.
I attended a funeral last night and for the first time, I didn't get emotional. I realized that the individual had lived his life and impacted as many people as he was supposed to have impacted. It was standing room only. That is amazing to me. I saw people from all walks of life celebrating life. Even more, I saw hope. Hope that things will get better.
The purpose for my reflection on the funeral was to prove that even though some situations and/or relationships may be deceased, you can still live. Live like never before. Live like today is going to be the last.
So I end my post with the following quote that sums it up best:
"Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death." - Anais Nin
I SEE YOU DOWN, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET UP???
